All three clubs understand that the priority is for people with symptoms and belonging to risk groups to use them
LaLiga has sent in the last few hours ample remittances of coronavirus tests to its clubs . The idea is that all players and technicians submit to them in order to carry out an early detection of those infected and to concentrate the quarantine periods so that the competition is restored as soon as possible. However, several clubs have already announced that they will not undergo such tests. The reason is simple: no member of the team has symptoms of being infected and they understand that these tests will be more useful for other groups affected by this crisis.
The first to join has been Real Valladolid , who has announced his decision through David Espinar, director of the Presidential cabinet and spokesman for the club. “LaLiga made them available to us, but we have not carried them out for medical and social criteria. No player has symptoms and we believe that there are groups that are much less benefited and with more needs. It is they who should have priority,” explained the blanquivioleta leader.
Osasuna has also decided not to use the evidence provided by the employers, according to its general director, Fran Canal, in an interview with ‘El Chiringuito’: “First of all, we want to thank LaLiga for the detail. We have made the decision not to Do the tests out of humility and good sense. We are ordinary citizens and we do not have to have any privilege. We understand that the tests should be used by people with symptoms and risk groups. “
As EL MUNDO has learned, Eibar has also made the same decision . From the armorer club they explain that “there are other priorities” since nobody in the club has symptoms of having contracted the coronavirus. For this reason, they have made the decision to donate all the tests to Osakidetza, the public health service of the Basque Country. Other clubs such as Madrid, Valencia, Alavés and Levante decided several days ago to subject their footballers and other employees to tests, regardless of whether they had symptoms or not. At Barça they have not received the coronavirus tests, so they have not tested their footballers (all asymptomatic).
The distribution of tests by LaLiga has opened a new focus of conflict between the institution chaired by Javier Tebas and the RFEF. “There are patients whose life is in question, who need the test and it is out of place to be used for this purpose. I exclude myself from this measure. It is not knowing the reality. We have to be confined and not move except for measures in some cases like work. Footballers are already isolated as well. It is even illegal, punishable, unsupportive and an anti-patriotic measure, “denounced Luis Rubiales on Tuesday.
