Coronavirus: Simple, Cheap Recipes for Home Cooking

Home cooking is a good way to stay busy during the current coronavirus pandemic and save money. Healthy and cheap ingredients and cooking processes allow to achieve rich and healthy dishes. Here are some quick recipes, which you can cook during the quarantine of this global virus.

Tuna with spinach

Nutritious and very simple, this dish is prepared in no time.


  • 1 kg of tuna cut into fillets 1 cm thick
  • 1 kg spinach
  • 500 g tomatoes
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 2 medium onions
  • Salt, pepper, parsley, oregano.
  • Oil, necessary quantity

How this healthy tuna with spinach is made:

1- Place the tuna fillets in a baking dish painted with oil.

2- Cut the onions, the tomatoes and chop the garlic. Place them on the tuna.

3- Add salt, pepper, oregano and drizzle with oil.

4- Cover with metallic paper and take to the oven at 180 ºC for about 10 minutes.

5- Distribute the spinach leaves over the preparation and take to the oven for five more minutes.

It is ready. You can sprinkle the spinach with grated cheese.

Linguini with chickpeas and rosemary

Pasta always gets you out of trouble . Few ingredients and quick preparation make this recipe ideal for those who work at home.


  • 400 g of linguini boiled in plenty of salted water
  • 50 g of butter
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • 3 sprigs of fresh rosemary
  • 3 garlic cloves, peeled and finely minced
  • 400 g of boiled chickpeas
  • ½ cup coarsely chopped parsley
  • Parmesan cheese, grated, quantity required

How to prepare this simple recipe:

1- In a frying pan, heat the oil and add the rosemary . Cook for 4 minutes.

3- Remove the rosemary on absorbent paper and add salt.

4- Add the butter to the oil, bring to heat and add the garlic and chickpeas stirring so that everything is browned. Season with salt and pepper.

5- Add the pasta and ½ cup of the linguine cooking water. Stir to mix.

6- When serving, distribute crumbled fried rosemary . Sprinkle with grated cheese.


To give the day a sweet touch, nothing better than some truffles.


  • 200 g of dulce de leche
  • 70 g of condensed milk
  • 200 g of digestive type cookies, crushed.

How these exquisite truffles are prepared:

1- Mix condensed milk with dulce de leche in a bowl.

2- Gradually add the ground cookies, integrating the preparation. Reserve a portion of the cookies for the final batter.

3- Take to the freezer for one hour.

4- Assemble balls with your hands.

5- Coat them in the reserved ground cookies.

6- Take it back to the freezer.

They are removed half an hour before serving. If they remain long in the heat, they soften.
